Bodies and objects: semantics and performance in Waiting for Godot
The seminar aims at examining the semantic function of bodies and objects in Samuel Beckett's "Waiting for Godot". Starting from the reading and performance of some key scenes in the play, it will analyse how these passages redefine the interaction of bodies and objects, transforming it into a key element in the play's structure and critical interpretation. References to other plays by Beckett will be made, highlighting continuities and differences between Waiting for Godot and later works for theatre, radio, television.
The seminar starts on 4th May.
