Riccardo Capoferro
Associate Professor of English Literature
Riccardo Capoferro has earned his M.A.(2007) and Ph.D (2009) in English at Rutgers University, and has been the recipient of a three-year research fellowship at "Sapienza" University of Rome.
He is the author of five monographs (Novel. La genesi del romanzo moderno nell'Inghilterra del Settecento [2017], Leggere Swift [2013] Empirical Wonder: Historicizing the Fantastic, 1660-1760 [2010], Frontiere del racconto. Letteratura di viaggio e romanzo in Inghilterra, 1690-1750 [2007] and Defoe: guida al Robinson Crusoe [2003]) and of essays and articles on the theory and history of the novel. He has published on the work and influence of Joseph Conrad, and on the relation between English and 20th-century Italian culture, with essays on Primo Levi, Italo Calvino, Gianni Celati, and Hugo Pratt.
