Mario Martino

Professor of English Literature

Mario Martino is Full Professor of English Literature at the University of Rome "La Sapienza". He specialized in English Literature at the University of Rome, his alma mater, in 1987, and later received his doctoral degree from the University of Florence (1993). He has published on Shakespeare's lyrics (Il problema del tempo nei sonetti di Shakespeare, Roma 1985), on Beckett's narrative fiction (Samuel Beckett e il romanzo modernista: Murphy, Bari 2003), and on Dickens (Dickens e la crisi della scrittura, Bari 1996). His research interests focus on Elizabethan and Jacobean lyric, the Nineteenth century novel, and Modernism. He supervises dissertations in the same areas.
