Alessandro Saggioro

Professor in Symbology in the History of clothing

Alessandro Saggioro is a member of the Senato Accademico of Sapienza Università di Roma and of the Infosapienza Commitee. He received the PhD in Religious history at the University of Rome La Sapienza. The main research topics of his publications are the experimental teaching of the history of religions proposed in Italian schools, historiography and methodology of comparative religion, the relationship between entertainment and religion between Christianity and paganism, the relationship of Identity and Otherness. 

Among the main interests: the study and application of the historico-religious method to mythology and functions of the sacred story, studying the ethnographic confrontation with otherness and religious history and religious symbology (with specific reference to the dynamics of clothing).
